Mays Greenhouse: The Succulents
If you can turn your head away from the orchids (it's difficult!) and spin around 180 degrees, many benches of succulents are calling out to be taken home. I have no good place to put these indoors, so I resist - and return to Mays as needed for a fix...
A kalanchoe with red-tinted edges:
The echieveria demand to be photographed!
How cool are these plants?! I am really looking forward to having suitable habitat for them some day...
A slightly different cultivar, with a pale pink blush overlaying the silver:
Don't they look so perfectly take-home-able? Damn my low light house...
Not sure at all what this oddity is:
But it really doesn't get weirder than lithops - I can't decide if they're cute or just too strange.
Something about looking at the cacti benches warms me up, and makes it even more jarring leave the greenhouse during the Indiana winter.

I wish I were there, what an eldorado!T Tyra
I actally like lithops but can't get them to survive. Stopped buying the poor things. ; )
It sounds like the lithops have pretty exacting requirements - but at $2, why not give it a whirl?
